Yan Wu received the B.S. degree
in Mathematics from Beijing University of Technology in 1992, and the M.S.
degree in Applied Mathematics and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Electrical
Engineering both from University
of Akron in 1996 and
2000, respectively.
In 2000, he joined Georgia
Southern University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical
Sciences, where he is currently an Associate Professor in Mathematics. His research interests include adaptive
control systems, decentralized control, digital filter design, sampling theory,
and image coding/processing. He has two
patents granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Wu serves as an Associate
Editor for Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation (ISA) and an Associate
Editor for American Automatic Control Council (AACC). He is a member of World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society Working
Group on Computing and Automation.
