Public Lecture.

GSU student, Phillip Lorren, wins the Waldemar J. Trjitzinsky Scholarship from the American Mathematical Society (AMS).
- Sze-Man Ngai recently found out from Matthew Miller, AMS Associate Secretary for the SE Section,
that our proposal to hold a meeting of the AMS Southern Section at Georgia Southern University on March 12-13,
2011, has been approved by the Secretariat of the AMS.
- Joy Darley is a co-PI on a successful NSF - Noyce Grant Proposal to increase the production of high school mathematics and science teachers. The grant totals close to $750,000.
- Steve Damelin has been named Professor of Computational and Applied Mathematics, University of the Witwatersrand.
- Goran Lesaja receives educational leave to visit Netherlands.
